World Book Day!

World Book and Copyright Day, to give it its full title, is the biggest annual celebration of books and the love of reading across the globe.

The event organised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation was invented to promote reading as well as publishing and copyright.

While the rest of the world celebrates World Book Day on April 23rd, the UK and Ireland celebrate on the first Thursday of March.

Set up with the aim of unleashing children’s imagination through reading in 1998, World Book Day as helped millions of children across the planet to discover the magic of reading.
